What is Cloud Computing?

CLOUD COMPUTING

Cloud = A group of servers/computer system resources hosted on the remote place and made accessible via internet.

Computing = Operations.

Cloud + Computing = A group of servers/computer system resources hosted on the remote place and made accessible via internet to perform the operations.

Renting computer system resources based on the need and requirement for the period of time.

Let's see in practical way...

• There was Person Named X, ever year X takes his family to tour once in a year. So he thought of buying a car.
  
• Question:
• Would you think he should buy a car for taking his Family to tour that he will use this car only once in a year?
  
• Does the money he spent on the car is worth for him?
  
• Does he is using the money wisely by buying a car?
• Wise men Answer:
• If he would drive the car daily that would be worth for buying it but only once in year he would use the car. Why can't X take the Car for rent on the Tour time. Which would save more $ right? This is the right choice correct.

Like the same way, why should a Company/Developer needs to pay for the Computer System Resources even when he is not using it.

Example:

• A guy Named Y, working in Android Development. He needs more computing power for building apps he would be using the Android Studio to develops apps so he bought a high end systems.
• But after few year he changed his interest and moved to different technology like web developer with HTML and JAVASCRIPT. Where in this case he doesn't require the high end specs system resources. In this scenario he cant able to shrink down his system resources also since he already paid everything and his money is already gone.

If he would have rented a system through the Cloud Computing strategy he would have save $$$. Agreed?

What is the need for Cloud Computing?

• Not everyone can afford the latest Configuration computer system resources but they require high configuration resources for only certain period of time to perform their operation. In that case instead of buying the Physical Hardware and setup those system resources in his home/workplace the person can take advantages of this Cloud Computing.
• Shrink down or Scale up the system resources based on the requirement and need and only pay for the usability time or used resources.

Advantages of Cloud Computing:

• Scale up / Scale down based on the need/requirement.
• Cost saving.
• Rapid access and high availability.
• Mobility.
• Agility.
• Managing and Maintain of the Servers/System resources is low as a end user.
